Its 1.5x bigger than gta 3.3 times bigger than RDR and 3.5 times bigger than skyrim. It isnt as big as all three put together. But it is still a humungous map to explore nonetheless, it'll feel way bigger than gta v only because you have a horse and you run you arent going 250mph in a car.

RDR2 is basically a much more indepth GTA 5 just taken way back in time. And the mechanics are very similiar. And like other Rockstar games while yes they have combat for sure, their focus is much more on story telling. Where as with Far Cry, they have story, but their focus is much more on combat.

It's hard to get a feeling for the map's exact size, but the above image and its many biomes coupled with what Ubisoft has already said about it being the biggest Far Cry map to date suggest that Yara could be one of the company's most enjoyable virtual playgrounds yet. Very good, lots of the usual stuff you'd want from a Far Cry game. FC 5 will always be my personal fave of the current series but 6 has the better supporting characters. If you're on PC you can trial Ubisoft plus until 10th October and play it for free. That's basically what I'm doing rn!
It's definitely not perfect, but I would recommend it over 6. Overall, Far Cry 5 is superior when compared to Far Cry 6, but here's things that I think Far Cry 6 did better than 5. -Map locations, I prefer the map of 5 over the one we got in 6, but the map locations in 6 were much more interesting.
RDR 2's terrible mission design makes me worried about GTA 6. Playing rdr 2 felt like playing 2 different games. It's like playing a linear story game inside an open world game. The game doesn't give you any freedom to do anything by yourself. Every time I try to do missions in a different way, my mission gets failed.

The map is huge, it would seriously take me 15-20 minutes to fly from one end to the other! PS. If you haven't played Just Cause 2, rent it, it is awesome, prb IMO more fun that GTA 4.

Yeah there definitely wasnt enough game to warrant a map that size. It would have been a lot better with some randomly-generated missions that gave us an excuse to visit these areas besides "open FND crate #336." I still hold GTA:SA and Skyrim as the "gold standard" for map design. Super dense, lots of variety, very little "wasted space."
