If you like the main game, you're going to love the DLCs. But you don't know that before buying the main game, lol. I'd say at the price for which the Gold Edition is going for during the sale, the risk is negligible. In my region it's only six bucks more than the barebone game, I'd call that a no-brainer.
I rented the game from Redbox to try it out and loved it, so I bought the gold edition to support Ubisoft, but I don't think it was worth it. if you think you'll but the season pass then maybe the gold edition is worth it, and if you want to support them then it's worth it, sure. but I don't feel like any of the extra stuff was worth it, honestly.
This Winter Sales, Epic are rolling over everyone. The Assassins Creed Origins Gold Edition is £8.74 using their clever £10 coupon sales pitch. Bought Metro Exodus Gold too because you can reuse the coupon. Nothing from Steam so far. Get your act together Steam !!! Odyssey is in my top 3 pc games of all time. Still playing it. I get in Origins every now and then and it's a great game but it's not Odyssey. I made it through about 70% of Valhalla but got bored with it. It seemed like it went downhill after leaving Norway. Assassin's Creed Odyssey should have just been called Odyssey because that's what it is. Origins becasuse It feels more alive and detailed. Animals hunt, Bandits do raids and ambushes , Soldiers use their horses (Soldiers in Odyssey don't use their horses in combat again when they diamount), Mounted combat, Desert sandstorms and Hallucinations. etc. Also I prefer Origins' combat. The game editions for AC: Origins which are: Deluxe Edition ($70): Includes the Ambush at Sea naval mission and the Desert Cobra Pack, which features the Eye of Apep staff, the Legendary Snake Shield, the Desert Cobra Outfit, the Fangs Horse Companion, the Fang Sickle Sword, and three ability points. Gold Edition ($110): Includes the Deluxe
Both are incredible deals and the sale might be on xbox and ps4 too but not sure. If you had to pick one, though, I'd say Odyssey has better gameplay Origins has better quests and story. Origins is the better Assassin's Creed game Odyssey is the better RPG. Both are great.
