My engine light has been on, along with the Engine Systems Fault display for about two weeks now. Took it to the garage last week as kept getting a spluttering, almost misfire when driving at around 50mph. They plugged it in and it was a DPF issue and they advised to take it for a long hard drive. Just to say a big thanks to this thread. It helped me to fix my 2008 Ford Focus Mk2.5 1.8 diesel. Engine wasn't starting, throwing P1622 immobiliser ID does not match. Reflowed the instructment cluster a few times and replaced main earth cable. But didn't know there was 3 more earth connections under the air intake box.

My 2011 Mk2 Focus (1.6 TDCI) has just gone 'limp' after setting off from my house, failing to reach 35 mph unless going down a hill. Have phoned a garage who in January replaced the fuel filter after the car just would not start and hoping to get it resolved tomorrow. Still no difference so bought second-hand fuel pump (£60) of a car which had done 42k miles. While engine in bits, changed timing belt, water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys (£77) and ancillary belt (£13). Also stripped EGR system out, which was in a awful state. Posted February 8, 2014. the most common problem found is the wiring connector at the throttle body on the engine. The wires break inside the connector so the wirig at both the pedal and throttle body will need checked. Inspect all related throttle body terminals for a loose wiring.

Remove the faulty battery and replace it with a working battery. It doesn’t have to be a new car battery as long as you know it works in another car. If you don’t receive the “Engine System Fault” message after replacing the battery, then the problem is the battery. If your battery is new, troubleshoot the alternator.

After 30seconds the message alter to "Acceleration reduced" and the car gauges stop sweeps but the ESP led was lighting. I stop the engine and after a while i start the engine again and there was no problem. A bluetooth elm can not read fault codes but with the dash trick there was the DTC #01 D900 code.
